The cannon has landed!

In the early hours of 1 August this cannon from the Lyttelton Museum collection was lowered on to our site at 35 London Street.

The arrival of the cannon, likely to be a 6″ breech loading Mark XXIV Coastal Defence gun contributes to the 'enlivening' of our site as we fundraise for a purpose-built museum in the heart of Lyttelton.

Our thanks to The Air Force Museum of New Zealand who continue to safely store our collection in anticipation of the new build and to Stark Bros Lyttelton who transported and delivered the cannon to our site.
