With sorrow and regret, we share the news that much loved and respected Te Ūaka President Dr Kerry McCarthy passed away Monday 11^th January 2021.

We have lost a dear friend, and the museum a great champion. Through the years Kerry and her family lived in Lyttelton, and her work with the Museum collections both in Lyttelton and at Canterbury Museum, Kerry touched many lives. Like Museum founder Baden Norris, Kerry was a gifted story teller and seeker of truths and histories with a delightful and often wholly surprising mischievous streak. Baden had become part of Kerry's family, and it is her family we wish to manaaki now. Privileged to know her, she will be greatly missed.
